PhoneStar is an innovative, effective sound insulation board, consisting of environmentally friendly raw materials - wood and sand. It significantly reduces both, airborne and impact sound through walls, floors and ceilings. At only 15 mm thickness, a PhoneStar board provides up to 36 dB (Rw) of airborne sound insulation.

 

PhoneStar TRI was awarded during the BAU 2011 in Munich.

PhoneStar combines 3 criteria of good sound insulation

Sand was used for sound insulation of dead floor by old builder. Sand is an excellent sound protection, as you can see at the hammer.

Amazing airborne sound insulation within Rw=36 dB

PhoneStar is only 15mm thick and has the airborne sound insulation of a simple stud wall in dry construction. Loose grain of sand in the board has been oscillated by striking of the incident energy in microscopical small vibrancy. Acoustic energy is converted into kinetic energy.

The graph shows the airborne sound insulation of a 15 mm plate for the individual frequencies. The measurement was performed in a door test.

 

The airborne sound insulation as a single value is Rw = 36 dB. The human hearing feels about 10 dB as a halving of the sound.

 

Phonestar insulates even in the low frequency rangevery good with more than 20 dB.

 

Coincidence points (intrusion of sound insulation at a frequency) do not occur in the entire frequency curve, because sand grains have no resonance frequency best building materials.
